Mosh Pit
Kristyn Dunnion

Alberta Trade Fiction Book of the Year nomination

Canadian Children's Book Centre Our Choice selection, 2005

Juliet meets her Juliets in this raw look at punk, young love and the sometimes cloudy road to adulthood. Mosh Pit, a compelling story of rebel girls in the modern city, stars Simone – torn between her loyalty to her rebellious heart – throb Cherry and her feelings for Carol, streetwise and distant enough to be alluring.

This edgy young adult novel takes Simone through the modern equivalent of Hades where she gradually gains a sense of who she is and more importantly who she can be.

Self described saucy tart, Kristyn Dunnion is the author of novels Missing Matthew and Big Big Sky. Her short stories are published in numerous collections. She is also the trash talking, audacious MC and macho femme, Miss Kitty Galore.

Kristyn studied English Literature and Theatre at McGill University. Her passion for children’s literature and wigs led her to the University of Guelph where she completed a Masters Degree in English. She hosts burlesque parties, cabaret evenings, drag king shows and weddings, and her performance pieces are innovative and thought provoking. She also enjoys making school visits, facilitating creative writing workshops with learners of all ages, and is an excellent guest speaker. Kristyn likes to dance. She does not eat animals. She likes big boots, shaved heads, and loud music!
