THE HOLIDAYS HAVE A WAY of bringing everyday life into sharper focus--as families and friends draw together, we dwell more on those we love and those we miss, and are reminded of times past but not forgotten.
Home for the Holidays gathers the holiday memories of more than sixty prominent Americans--celebrities, politicians, authors, athletes, and artists--who generously donated their stories and artwork to Habitat for Humanity for inclusion in this book. Each provides a glimpse into the life of the contributor, creating a scrapbook of memories that will sweeten the holiday season for you and your family. Your purchase of this book will help Habitat for Humanity build low-cost housing with families in need, and thus help bring others "home for the holidays."
Includes stories by Maya Angelou, Rosalynn Carter, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Mario M. Cuomo, Clyde Edgerton, Charlton Heston, Coretta Scott King, Charles Kuralt, Tommy Lasorda, Mickey Mantle, Eugenia Price, Anne Rivers Siddons, Richard Simmons, and many, many more.
GENE STELTEN has been involved with Habitat for Humanity for more than fifteen years, volunteering his time both in the boardroom and on construction sites.
