Wayne Ledwell is from Calvert on the Southern Shore of the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland. He has been involved in releasing whales and other marine animals from fishing gear since 1988. He currently operates the Whale Release and Strandings Group in Newfoundland and Labrador.
