Martha Hickman Hild received her PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Leeds, UK, and has been a member of the American Geophysical Union since 1981. Early in her career, she co-directed a research laboratory and lectured in geology. She has worked as an editor in both technical and educational publishing, and as a news researcher. Since moving to Newfoundland, Martha has worked at Memorial University.
