Graham's takes the colour blue and lifts it to a poetic dimension that explores a range of subjects every reader can relate to in Book of Blue. This collection masterfully delves into delight, fear, longing and awe through Graham's rendering of the 'blue' experience. Book of Blue is a bright voice in the colours of our existence.
Shirley Graham has written poetry and prose for three decades. Her work has been published in numerous literary magazines, such as Grain, the Windsor Review and Descant. She was a semi-finalist in manuscript competitions that include the Yale Younger Poets Series, the Bluestem Poetry Competition, and the Discovery/The Nation award. She grew up in California, studied with various writers in the U.S., and then, with her husband, the poet Peter Levitt, and their son Tai, moved to Salt Spring Island where she writes and works as a psychologist.
