Cara Rosenbloom

Registered dietitian Cara Rosenbloom is the president of Words to Eat By, a nutrition communications company based in Toronto, ON. With a literature degree from the University of Western Ontario and a food & nutrition degree from Ryerson University, Cara has merged her two passions — writing and nutrition — to educate and excite the public about healthy living.

Cara realized early in her dietetic career that nutrition advice could be ho-hum, and the best way to communicate about healthy eating was to bring food to life with recipe ideas, inspiring cooking tips and tempting culinary creations. With her trademark enthusiasm and passion, Cara’s recipes, TV appearances, magazine articles and blog posts inspire people to make better food choices for a healthier lifestyle.    

As a passionate foodie, Cara loves to cook, educate and entertain about all things ingredient-related. A seasoned presenter at corporate lunch ‘n’ learns, cooking classes, conferences and TV programs across North America, Cara delivers evidence-based nutrition messages with tasty recipes that expertly balance flavour and health. Regular appearances on CTV News, Global News and The Morning Show have secured Cara’s place as one of the top trusted nutrition experts in Canada.

Cara has written for many media publications, including Canadian Living, Today’s Parent and Food & Nutrition magazine. Her factual and fun nutrition information can also be found on her popular blog at, which is an official member blog of Dietitians of Canada and the Nutrition Blog Network.  Her blog earned kudos in 2014 as one of the top 100 nutrition resources on the web.

Cara is a member of Dietitians of Canada, the College of Dietitians of Ontario and the US-based Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She also holds the position of Chair for Dietitians of Canada’s Business and Industry Network.

Growing up in a foodie family, Cara’s passion in the kitchen came from her mom, and has since been passed down to her daughter Kasey and son Aubrey. Family dinners with her husband, children and father are Cara’s favourite way to test new recipes! Nourish is her first cookbook.
