Sharon Siamon

As a child, Sharon Siamon had a passion for three things: horses, mountains, and books. Growing up in rural Southern Ontario with a family too busy for horses, Siamon pursued her dreams through books and make-believe. She says: "I rode the big work horses who loved to scrape me off their backs under the thorn bushes, and I rode my friends' horses every chance I had." As an adult, she has spent her time pursuing an adventurous lifestyle, and sharing it in her writing.

Sharon Siamon's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University. She has also taken courses towards her Master's degree at York University. Siamon is one of Canada's most prolific writers of fiction for young readers. She has published fourteen novels in Canada, two series in England, and a series in Norway. Several of her novels have been selected as "Our Choice" titles by the Canadian Children's Book Centre.

A mother of three adult daughters, Siamon now enjoys writing in the early morning hours, spending the rest of the day outdoors hiking, canoeing, and riding when she gets the chance. She and her husband Jeff live in Sharbot Lake, Ontario, with their dog, Brio, who is a hopeless guard dog, grinning at everyone who walks through the door.
